21 Questions With Molly O’Bryant, Owner & Lash Artist at A Touch of Lash

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the latest addition of 21 Questions! We’re super excited to share the answers we just received from local lash artist and owner at A Touch of Lash, Molly O’Bryant.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Molly, she’s pretty much the queen of lash extensions in Vegas right now and if you’re not following her business on instagram yet, you’re missing out. As a mother, entrepreneur, and artist, she’s the perfect example of a Las Vegas local making moves and inspiring us all to hustle a little harder.

1. Do you have any hidden talents?

I was a D-I collegiate softball player and I still hold records at my high school and colleges. I played competitive softball for over 15 years and I am a very competitive person by nature. If you tell me I can’t, I’ll show you I can!

2. What’s your favorite cocktail?

I’d have to say that my favorite cocktail is a Mojito, but I am so picky about it and not many make this drink correctly so my immediate back up is Peach Ciroc and Pineapple with 2 limes. << see, completely picky!

3. Are you a morning person or night owl?

I love the mornings and the energy that I have when I wake up early, but I am a complete night owl. I can’t seem to get to bed before midnight very often and I NEED my sleep. I have two small children and they stay up with us until about 9 pm so that we can soak up as much family time as possible. Once they’re asleep, I usually have to catch up on work tasks or housework.

4. Favorite sports teams?

My favorite sports teams are the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Bulls, and the Las Vegas Golden Knights. I am from Illinois so I have to rep those teams except for the Knights. The way they brought this community together has been amazing to witness. I may become a Raiders fan when they move out here, but until then the Bears have another season to try to win the Super Bowl with my support.

5. Go-to coffee order?

I’m actually not a fan of coffee! I don’t like anything bitter or that has a weird after taste. At this time, my adult taste buds haven’t gotten the memo that coffee is life so it’s something I don’t enjoy.

6. Any new and exciting things that you would like to share about A Touch of Lash?

Yes! We have so many amazing things going on at ATOL. We have expanded into a bigger location where we can finally offer more services to our clients like spray tan, waxing, tinting, and permanent makeup. We also have added new products to our ATOL lash product line that is available for purchase on our website. Our training center for our ATOL Lash Academy is finally now on site at our new location which means that we can host more lash courses for those interested in learning how to perform lash extension services! We also have added on more talented artists to our team which I turn allows us to offer more flexible hours with Sunday availability. We have 3 upcoming lash courses for July and more information for signing up can be found on our website, atouchoflash.com.

7. If you could fix or change one thing about Vegas, what would it be?

Ahh I am not good at picking just one thing! I would like to change how we don’t have a longer fall season here (I miss the Midwest season change). I would also like to see Las Vegas get behind helping our homeless population more. Adding more shelters or building tiny homes would be something that I could completely get behind and support. As a mother, I’d have to say that education is something that is very heavy on my mind lately. I know that we struggle as a city on this subject, but I’d like to see some major changes being made to this area. We have to do better and provide better opportunities for our Las Vegas children.

8. What’s one thing you know now that you wish you had known as a kid?

You have so much time to do what you really want to do! Pursue your dreams, go for the things that seem almost impossible. There is not as much holding you back as you think! I look back on how much time I used to have and use unwisely and I cringe. Life isn’t as busy as it seems when you’re young. Seeing everything that I have accomplished with all the moving parts that I have today, I wonder what I would have been able to have accomplished if I had started using my time in more productive ways earlier!

9. If you could eat lunch with one famous person (from history or currently alive), who would it be?

I would really be interested in meeting with Anne Frank. I can’t imagine that I’d leave that lunch without tears, but it would be one of the most interesting conversations of my lifetime.

10. What’s your best advice for up and coming Vegas entrepreneurs or marketers?

Network as much as you can and find what makes you different from everyone else. It’s why you will stand out and cause people to gravitate towards you. Be sure to always follow up with the connections you make and treat everyone with the same respect. This town is full of wonderful groups of people. You never know where a connection will lead you.

11. What will you be working on 10 years from now?

I am hoping to be working on a third location and helping the state board of cosmetology on creating a separate lash license for lash artists 10 years from now. Possibly expanding my product line and continuing to offer great education courses on lash extensions.

12. What’s your absolute favorite thing in the world to do?

Hang out with my family! I grew up extremely close to our family and I love getting to be around them. Now that I have my own little family with my two daughters and my husband, I absolutely would choose going to a park with them over anything. I need that family time to remind me why I work so hard. It recharges me.

13. Favorite TV Show or Movie right now?

Law & Order – SVU

14. Favorite place to eat in Vegas?

I love Sparklings. It’s such a hidden gem and I love how big the menu is.

15. How many alarms do you set to wake up in the morning?

I usually set one alarm. I snooze it once and then my husband pushes me out of bed (night owl, remember).

16. What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?

I wanted to be a lawyer. I still may go to law school. There are a lot of parts in my business that require law knowledge so it may be helpful.

17. What’s your fondest memory of building a business in Vegas?

It has to be that we still have clients that we serviced back in our early days that still trust us to handle their lashes today. That is a really awesome feeling knowing that some of our clients have been with us for 8+ years.

18. If you could live anywhere in the world other than Vegas, where would it be?

I would live closer to my family in the Midwest. I have been fortunate to have been able to travel to many amazing countries and I always feel like my most authentic self when I am around my family and loved ones. If I could move my family anywhere in the world, I’d pick Grand Cayman.

19. What’s one instagram or social media account you think everyone in Vegas should follow?

I think everyone should follow @lasvegasgal! She has the coolest content and she features a lot of Las Vegas businesses that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. I also really like how she helps others to understand and use social media through her free social media courses.

20. What are 3 things you look for in everyone you hire or work with?

    1. Passion
    2. Future Goals and Growth
    3. Honesty / Vibes

21. What’s your number one vacation spot outside of Vegas?

Grand Cayman Island! It’s our favorite place to go and relax.
