Google and the East Las Vegas Library will host free ‘Grow with Google’ workshops on Monday, June 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The East Las Vegas Library is located 2851 East Bonanza Road. ‘Grow with Google” is the tech company’s economic opportunity initiative, which helps job seekers and small businesses learn the digital skills they need to succeed through onsite instructional training, led by visiting Google teams, presenters, and coaches.
The Grow with Google workshops will complement East Las Vegas Library’s existing digital skills programs, which include a DJ Lab, a sound editing booth and video green screen, a podcast room, dozens of computers for adults and children, and the library’s Adult Learning Center, which includes the One-Stop Career Center, offering a wide range of career-building classes.
Grow with Google is on a national tour in partnership with America’s libraries. The tour will host digital skills workshops in libraries in all 50 states and will aim to support libraries’ digital skills offerings on an ongoing basis. Three quarters of public libraries assist patrons with job applications and interviewing skills, and 90% offer basic digital skills training.
