Old school meets new cool at the Thunderbird Boutique Hotel in downtown Las Vegas with the launch of the Thunderbird Lounge. Featuring shareable bar bites, classically cool cocktails and a great playlist, Thunderbird Lounge has retained hospitality veteran Kelley Jones of Kelley Jones Hospitality in partnership with Todd Parmelee.

The renovation of the lounge, which also includes bar top gaming, is the latest in a series of renovations taking place in the history-rich property which has already welcomed locals and tourists alike with remodeled guest rooms, a full-service wedding chapel and showroom.

Happy Hour runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily with specials on select domestic draft beer, well cocktails and house wines by the glass.

The new digs will be open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight Friday and Saturday, guests can start the day with a Bloody Mary and traditional breakfast favorites such as hearty Steak & Eggs or the already popular “Hangover” Breakfast Burrito filled with scrambled eggs, sausage, scallions and cheddar cheese and topped with salsa.

The “All Day Menu” offers a wide variety of items such as fresh salads that can be made into wraps, flavorful sandwiches including Pork Belly Sliders with Asian BBQ sauce; a Shrimp Po Boy; a Steak & Potato Wrap filled with flank steak, tater tots, cheddar cheese and more; a selection of street tacos with choice of filling or, for non-meat eaters, a tasty Veggie Burger.

A series of  flatbreads are perfect for sharing, including the  Meat Lovers topped with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, mozzarella, and tomato sauce; traditional Margherita and Pepperoni, or “Pizza and Ranch” lovers rejoice with the Ranch flatbread topped with tender chicken, crispy bacon, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and, of course, Ranch dressing. Other all day dining options include Beer Battered Fish & Chips, a generous Steak and PotatoPasta Primavera, and Chicken Parmesan, topped with extra cheese.

Specialty cocktails kick it back to the good ol’ days with Thunderbird’s take on classics including the 1948 Cocktail (as a nod to the year the original Thunderbird opened in Las Vegas) featuring Woodford Reserve Straight Rye Whiskey, Aperol Italian Liqueur, vermouth and chocolate bitters; the Hemingway Daiquiri with Atlantico Blanco Rum, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, grapefruit liqueur and fresh lime juice, or the sweet and decadent Pink Squirrel with Crème de Noyaux, white crème de cacao and cream, to name a few.

Guests can also enjoy a selection of crushed ice cocktails while sitting on the patio near the fire pit including the Blue Suede Shoes featuring Deep Eddy Orange, Deep Eddy Red Grapefruit, fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, blue curaçao liqueur and lemon lime soda; or the Flash in The Pan with Spring 44 Gin, fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, black cherry purée and fresh cracked black pepper, among others.
